Fabulous week in a lovely house. Superb view, magnificent scenery and a truly memorable location. Mixed weather but what you would expect for North Wales in May. Kids have thoroughly enjoyed themselves, Jazz the dog has had a fabulous holiday and Snowdon tested those of us who chose to accept the challenge (Rydh ddu is pretty tough!). Waking up on Saturday morning and not being able to enjoy the view is going to be tough. We hope the farmer is grateful for the life of the sheep we saved on Thursday morning!!! Hopefully we can all come back again soon.

We have spent three glorious days here with the best weather that North Wales has to offer. Celebrating a 60th birthday at Hafod Cae Maen - dinner at Castell Deudraeth (home to father-in-law Bill when his prep school was evacuated there) - supper in Y Ring in Llanfrothen, visits to Plas Brondanw garden and newly opened Oriel Brondanw. It was strange for us to look out of our bedroom window across the traeth to our house. Building work prevents us staying there but hope to be waving across to de Thierrys at some point soon!

Back again. Still as lovely. Trips to Harlech, Bodnant, Plas Newydd. See you in October.

An unexpected opportunity to spend a night at the old homestead (where the Gough family lived between 1957 and the late 1970s). Other (younger) members of the family ran a relay over several days, experiencing the character of the old place. There is curiously little change in the general atmosphere, and no signs of the catamaran that was built in what is now the library. (The secret panel is still there where we kids hid our contraband.) No discernable changes in the garden except that the rhododendron is slightly more under control. The kitchen area is rearranged, and well appointed, and the house is warmer and more comfortable than in my day (Sorry dad and mum.)... more secrets revealed on our next visit! We have all had an amazing weekend that none of us will ever forget! Hafod Cae Maen is absolutely perfect. Everything is here that you could possibly need, and for the little ones too. The renovations have been done with such sympathy, and it has all the character it has always had. We all plan to return just as soon as possible. We want to thank all of you - it has been amazing!! We have all felt that we came back home. We leave with heavy hearts. Just a massive thank you.

Such a beautiful spot to spend an adventurous week walking, cycling and exploring the North Wales countryside. Would especially recommend Black Rocks Beach for exercising a dog/children. The Coed y Brenin Forest for mountain biking, but for a more sedate cycle with smaller children the Mawddach Trail takes you along the beautiful estuary from Dollgellau to Barmouth. Also great tapas at Tilmans on Church Street in Barmouth. For a dog-friendly Sunday roast would recommend the Cross Foxes in Dollgellau. Lovely walk down to Portmeirion Village and one of the little shops even sells sheet music for piano. So we also enjoyed the hits of Elton John! The gelato cafe in Portmeirion has the best ice-cream. So many walks to recommend... lovely walks from Beddgelert Village and Betws-y-Coed. The dunes on Harlech Beach are stunning and the children loved the castle too. (Interesting looking cafe next to the castle but sadly closed.) The house was the perfect base, beds comfy and of course the views!! Very nice touch the coffee machine. Cannot wait to return as still so much to discover. PS The butchers in Penryhndeudraeth has sublime meat. Thanks Gwen for the recommendation.

Had a wonderful few days, as always, in this lovely house. Just what I needed. This house has a way of beckoning us back! Until next time...

Another fantastic week at this lovely house. Cannot think of a better place in Wales to spend New Year. Thanks Gwen for all your help.

A family weekend away to celebrate a 90th birthday. A wonderful house, with beautiful views. Weather cold but a touch of sunshine helped and the strong wind blew many a cobweb away. Thank you for an excellent stay!

Such a lovely house. We had a wonderful holiday. Stunning weather, long walks, long fire. So beautiful. Thank you.

We had a lovely time and great weather despite the bad forecast. The house is gorgeous, comfortable and well equipped - great to have the extra wine fridge! Thanks for everything - we will be back soon hopefully.

What an amazing house its really good for playing hide and seek games in the garden. We have had an amazing, brilliant and happy half term with loads of educational activities. The best bit was hiking and scrambling to the top of Snowdon. We loved it! A truly magical holiday house. We will be back for sure xx A house and a region to come back to. We had such good weather and loved the beach, the mountains, the villages. Beautiful! Best introduction to Wales I can imagine. Perfect in all respects. "A Christmas House" Such a lovely holiday house and a very welcome return to N Wales where I spent many childhood holidays. Fantastic!

Fantastic house, a wonderful find. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the area. With thanks. Wow masive its huge masive garden. Great for footy!!

What a wonderful house. What a wonderful holiday - and fireworks at Portmeirion to finish!! Thank you for sharing this magic paradise xxxx

A jewel of a place. Thank you for this beautiful house. Thank you Claire for your help when booking through Trip Advisor. Thank you Gwen for your help and advice.

What a wonderful house and the views are stunning. 3 generations of our family stayed here and all had a great time. The welcome hamper was much appreciated (the bara brith was delicious!). Alex (aged 4) loved all the toys and the playhouse. He says he wants to live here for ever and ever! Thank you for a lovely holiday in this amazing house. We loved exploring Portmeirion, with the woodland walks and secluded beach, took the train to Blaenau Ffestiniog where we ate very tasty Kurdish pasties and climbed up to abandoned slate mills, and hiked up Snowdon via Y Llechwedd and down via the Pyg track - a wonderful walk. We hope to come back!

We have had a great time in your lovely house. Everything we could possibly need was here and the surrounding walks and views are amazing. We have done nearly every adventurous activity available from white-water rafting, rock climbing, walking up Snowdon, zip-wiring and trampolining in a mine, not to mention swimming in the sea and visiting castles. The Monopoly produced much shouting and entertainment. Thank you so much.

We have had a wonderful time here (our first!). We loved the house, area, views and garden. Despite mixed weather we have kept busy walking Snowdon (up Pyg, down Miners), visiting Portmeirion, walking on Harlech Beach and ice-cream shop, river canyoning (great fun!), eating at "Y Castell" twice, walking around the coastal path near Llanbedrog and eating outside when possible. We loved the welcome pack, fresh flowers and Gwen, who was incredibly helpful and friendly! We would also recommend the fish and chip steam train (6.05pm, return 8.50pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We hope to be back soon! Thank you.

We have had a wonderful stay. You have really thought of everything, and the house is a very hospitable place to spend some time. Beautiful area. Really appreciated the chance of daily housekeeping. PS Must say a really helpful touch that grocery shopping will be unpacked!!

Thanks for everything and for allowing us to stay in this beautiful house in such a charming setting. Eight of us shared your home for the week and we had an amazing time, even when it rained, the views were still spectacular and did not dampen our spirits. We will definitely come back with our families.

Had a fabulous time celebrating a 70th birthday here. Lots of lovely touches - the flowers & welcome hamper. Lovely spot. The grandchildren loved the garden. Had a great lunch at the Castle restaurant & enjoyed a pleasant afternoon in Portmeirion village. Thank you!

Wonderful stay for 3 nights. Spotted two bullfinches on the lawn outside the dining room on the first evening! Lovely house, all the facilities you need; lovely high quality at every turn. Nice walks from the house to the coastal path and to Portmeirion. Beautiful views looking over the estuary in the evening - fortunate weather helped, as we could eat out on the lawn every day. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful house, a home from home, thank you for the hospitality to make our stay very special. A fabulous 50th birthday present. Will be back.

A wonderful week - fabulous house & garden, beautiful weather, glorious location. Everything needed for a perfect holiday.

Thanks again for a lovely stay at Hafod Cae Maen. Had fun exploring Harlech Castle, Bodnant Garden & fun on Black Rock Sands! Hope to be back again sometime soon! All the best

As a family spending Christmas together for the first time in 3 years. Son and girlfriend returning from Alaska... It was all so perfect. We cooked and enjoyed the house for all its vast amenities - we could not have wished for anything more. Our dog Edna felt at home and it was so good to let her out in the garden. We took advantage of the local walks. We climbed Snowdon - walked the coast and spent a few hours in Portmeirion - we had a very special Christmas as a family we will never forget... We totally fell in love with the house - a family house. Special thanks to Gwen for her dedication to keeping in touch and making the house look so Christmas Special. All our thanks

We loved being here! Thanks for everything.

We cannot imagine a more perfect place to have holidayed with our adventurous 1 year old and energetic 4 year old! The house could not have been more child friendly which made for a relaxing and fun time for us all :-) We happened upon a perfect week of sunshine & did not stray far, with Portmeirion and steam trains on our doorstep and those beautiful grounds there was no need. Meeting the gardener was a real treat for our 4 year old who helped out & loved seeing them work. Thank you for squeezing us in last minute!

A wonderful return visit - the perfect 65th birthday gift. We will be back!

A lovely time was had by all - a beautiful house and lovely area, very enjoyable place to spend time for my husbands 60th birthday. Thank you!

Thank you for the loan of your beautiful house and all the little touches like local produce (Purple Moose, Bara Brith), flowers and lovely fluffy towels. We have had the most wonderfully relaxing week in our busy lives, enjoyed the Ffestiniog Railway, beautiful family days in the garden when it was hot and sunny, a lovely wedding (family) in Portmeirion and myriads of walks in the area. Toby our Springer Spaniel loved the train and chasing bees in your beautiful garden. What a view from the house! As we are only an hour away we will be back very soon.

What a lovely house. Really enjoyed our stay here. Our little dog Ellie loved the garden. Thank you for the Welcome Pack and lovely flowers.

Wonderful week, beach, wellie, BBQs - the lot! Our 2 year old was particularly happy, loved the toys and the little house and, of course, that made our week too! Our ages ranged from 94 to 5 months and we all felt completely aat home. Thank you.

Great stay. Who needs Cornwall? This place is splendid even in a storm - actually really exciting in a storm!! Rozje now a Big Train maniac. Drive-on beaches, a real luxury. And when the sun shines - well not much will beat it. Thank you.

A wonderful week spent in this lovely house. The setting, the scenery, the beaches - superb. We were lucky with the weather which suited us all, especially a 6 and 2 years old.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. It is so peaceful here. We have had a lovely, restful week, and hope to come back one day.

Martha - I loved playing outside and running around a lot. Ernie - I really liked the playhouse and playing in it. Molly - I really liked the lights and running around outside. The Wheel Family - The house is wonderful and we had a great time. Thank you for the presents! The boys particularly enjoyed the Purple Moose. Ciaran and Helen - The house is just fabulous - I loved waking up to that view every morning! We swam in the sea, went on a steam train and climbed a mountain and loved every minute!

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday at such a beautiful house! The weather has been kind to us this week and we have been able to do and see some amazing things/places. It is our first trip to North Wales and it most certainly will not be our last!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday, the house is beautiful and in a fantastic location, also well equipped. The weather has been great all week, visited loads of places and even managed to have two BBQs in the garden.

It has been a lovely few days at Hafod Cae Maen - very relaxing and I am glad to have slept better (and longer) than I can remember! Many thanks.

A stunning house in a wonderful location - a perfect retreat!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. It is so peaceful here. We have had a lovely, restful week, and hope to come back one day.

A lovely week in a beautiful house, weather good. House very homely, owners & housekeeper extremely thoughtful, even the dogs were well catered for with bones, ball thrower etc. The surrounding area is beautiful & Blackrock beach was amazing. Enjoyed a train trip on the Ffestiniog Railway to Beddgelert. PS The kitchen was very well equipped with all that is needed.

Thank you for a wonderful stay - the house is so well equipped - we lacked for nothing. The kids loved the Wendy House - they had to be extracted when we left for London. Looking forward to a return visit.

Gwen - Thank you for a warm welcome to this lovely house. We had a good weekend - despite it raining all weekend! It would be nice to stay with better weather, but we still managed a couple of walks. Everything you need is here for a home from home and with added views! Many thanks.

A beautiful bank holiday weekend has been had by all. Good food, good wine, good company and even good weather! We have had some lovely walks down to Portmeirion (off road buggy driving needed); walk from here to Porthmadog and then on to Criccieth along the coastal path and beach - number 3 but back! (Every half hour). The house is perfect and Gwen has been so helpful and welcoming. Enjoyed some cosy fires (even if we did end up opening the door as it got too hot!). Baby stuff, perfect but still maintains the grown up comfort. Time to go home but we will hopefully be back for the charades re-match...

We really do not want to leave - a very happy Easter week with the sun shining every day. Lots of beach life - lovely one beyond the lighthouse in Portmeirion and a day on Harlech Beach. Highly recommend a visit to Bodnant Garden - we hit it spot on and had a beautiful walk. Children also enjoyed an afternoon at the Ski Centre in Llandudno - wish we had had more time to go on the Steam train and explore the walks more. Could not fault this lovely house - adults, children and dogs equally happy (dog treats greatly appreciated). Perfect garden for an Easter Egg hunt - may be a few still there.... THANK YOU

Fantastic week with superb weather (sunshine every day) in an idyllic house for all of us. The children had a marvelous time in the garden and playhouse. The flowers were a lovely touch and Gwen has been very helpful and welcoming. Our visits to Portmeirion, Harlech, Black Sands and Criccieth + the Ffestiniog Railway have been memorable. Thank you to Hafod Cae Maen!

We had an amazing week and a wonderful time. the house was totally ideal for what we had planned. We really enjoyed our stay and all the fantastic views. the house is very commutable to Portmeirion which we enjoyed on a day out. Highly would recommend to family and friends. Thank You Very Much!

What a wonderful location to explore this part of Wales. The house proved to be perfect, catering for 3 generations aged between 1 and 80. We have never stayed in such a well equipped self-catering property - a real home from home. We spent many hours enjoying the garden and the children were entranced with the playhouse. We have had a truly wonderful week.

We loved the house, the garden and the views - and Alice (5) loved the Wendy house.

Lovely to return to this great house 5 years on. We have all had more sleep and made more use of the garden, toys + playhouse now that the boys are 5! I have no doubt this will not be our last trip here.

We have had a lovely week. The house is idyllic and so generously equipped. Thank you to Gwen for immaculate housekeeping, fresh flowers and a warm welcome and thanks to Paul and Claire for sharing this piece of paradise.

Yes, Hafod Cae Maen is indeed "paradise". From the moment we first entered this lovely place we felt so much at home. Beautifully furnished, splendidly equipped kitchen and such cosy bedrooms, how lucky we have been to respond to your generous invitation. Thank you Gwen for your welcome.

What a wonderful home, what a wonderful weekend! Thank you Paul for working so hard to make our stay a very enjoyable one.

A break from the madding crowd , log fires, stunning views, long walks and a library free from TV - genius! Thank you so much for sharing your house with us.

Enjoyable Halloween weekend, beautiful house and setting.

We have had another lovely week here at the beautiful Hafod Cae Maen. The weather has been lovely and we have been on lots of great walks, including walking the Pyg track up to a snow-covered Snowdon summit. Hope to be back next year! All the best.

My wife found the lovely house and as we are both away in the USA over Christmas and New Year, we decided to bring our family on a pre-Christmas holiday. We have had a real good family Christmas including walks along the beach with our little dog Bella. We have had a relaxing time to which the house and grounds have all added their bit. My two sons playing in the garden with our dog was a treat to see (never too old to enjoy themselves). We would like to revisit in the summer when we will be able to enjoy the long days and have better use of the garden areas. We have had a great time this Christmas at this lovely house.

We have had a wonderful, memorable Christmas in this cosy home in the most spectacular countryside. Cannot believe our luck in finding such a special place for Christmas - everything is so close by and yet you feel totally away from it all. Sid the dog has had the greatest of times and has really enjoyed the sheep poo! (Why do they DO THAT?!) Many thanks

We have had a great week here over the new year period. The children have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we have enjoyed the evenings in the library. Well equipped house with everything you could possibly need for a family holiday away. Thank you very much for all your help. Much appreciated.

We have had the most wonderful time at Hafod Cae Maen. The house is beautiful and so well equipped. We have enjoyed lovely walks and relaxing evenings in the library with the fire burning and a nice glass of wine. A perfect retreat - we will definitely be returning. Thank you to Gwen and Claire for sorting everything out at such short notice. It really has been perfect.

What a beautiful place to spend half-term week. Stunning walks, incredible views - an ideal location. Despite it being February, only one day of rain - ideal for the train. With four boys under the age of 7, the garden was a godsend - as was the Wendy House and the fully equipped playroom! Many thanks to Gwen for staying late for our delayed arrival and for looking after our food delivery - who would have thought - a beautiful house and a Waitrose delivery straight to the door! Thank you for a wonderful Valentine week.

We have enjoyed an idyllic week at Hafod Cae Maen. It was wonderful to arrive Friday evening to our hamper of Welsh treats - and to find our grocery shopping unpacked! Thank you Gwen. We have loved: exploring the garden, dining al fresco and looking at the beautiful view, sitting on the balcony, playing the piano, going on long walks... your home is comfortable and easy to live in. We have made lots of happy memories this week.

Hafod Cae Maen has been unforgettable and I wish that I could stay longer! Thank you! HAFOD CAE MAEN YAY

What a beautiful home and a wonderful view. My husband and I have enjoyed our week here with our daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren. Wales is a beautiful country.

Another lovely week in this fabulous house! We really enjoyed our stay here, including the recommended walks. We were lucky to have experienced most weather over the week, including hot sunshine at the beach at Morfa Bychan. Thanks for a warm welcome, fresh flowers and hamper of local goodies - all of which were used. We are grateful to Gwenfor sorting out the Waitrose delivery before our arrival and for making the child-friendly house child-safe too, with the stairgates etc. Something here for everyone - our 2 and 4 year olds loved exploring the garden, we had time to relax in the study by the fire and grandparents enjoyed our family picnic in the garden with games afterwards. Many thanks!

What an absolute gem! We spent a marvellous week here enjoying the stunning views and getting both soaked and sunburnt. Both cosy and well-equipped - we wanted for nothing which is important when you are travelling with two small children. Thank you!

The end of a delightful stay. Thank you for all the small touches such as the flowers, the Purple Moose, the local produce - they all added so much to the stay.

Very Good Time! Tom x Fantastic location, fantastic house, fantastic holiday xx AB-FAB!!!

The house is gorgeous! The view to die for. We have celebrated a 90th birthday, a 14th birthday and had friends and family to stay. It has been wonderful. Thank you for making it so easy for us to stay here. It was warm, welcoming and I enjoyed the "balcony" view every day. Everyone has relaxed, had a great time. I am sure we will be back. Thank you.

We enjoyed a wonderful week-end at your house. The location is second to none, the house equipped with everything we could possibly need. Weather was beautiful. Perfect for my 60th Birthday celebrations with daughters, son in laws and children. Many thanks.

We had a fabulous time here in this tremendous house. We loved exploring the giant garden and finding a secret house. Wat we all loved about this house was that you could go on adventurous walks and the beautiful view from the house And thats wat we loved about this holiday.

Lovely weekend break :)

A wonderfully relaxing sneaky week away in a beautiful house with excellent facilities (... love the fact there is real cooking stuff!). Thanks for organising the weather!

Our first holiday on our own as a family. Lyra aged four months particularly enjoyed the log fires. A beautiful house for a relaxing retreat. The views will draw us back.

What a great place to celebrate a special Birthday with all the family. We just loved the house and the boys loved the "Wendy house" (Bwthyn bach), gardens and walks. We conquered Snowdon! and enjoyed the railway mostly in good weather but stayed in with the wonderful fire when wet. Many thanks for the welcome and wonderful accommodation for all generations and dog!

This is becoming a bit of a habit , our 4th stay here! On this occasion to celebrate a very special birthday. Had a lovely time as always, exploring the surrounding areas, particularly Black Rock Sands. Hope to be back soon and all the best to Laura for her new life in NZ. Thanks again!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at such short notice in your beautifully restored and renovated home. Having not visited Hafod Cae Maen for over 5 years it stirred great emotions and evoked many great childhood memories from staying here with my grandparents particularly during the 1970s. My grandparents lived in this beautiful home for twenty years between 1958 and 1978 and spent many happy years here with their family. A truly magical home in a fantastic setting - this part of the wold really is God's country We hope to return again soon with other members of our family. Special mention to Laura for welcoming us on our arrival and we would like to wish her all the best when she starts a new chapter of her life with her family in New Zealand. One final massive thank you to the de Thierry family.

Do you know, I had never fallen in love with a home until this week!! Hafod Cae Maen has such heart, warmth and soul and I think part of her beauty is a reflection of the love she so clearly receives!! I spotted the house on One off Places' facebook page and the setting above Portmeirion looked magical - little did I know just HOW MUCH we would all enjoy our stay here. My daughter Yasmin (8) is heavily into Enid Blyton's Famous Five books at the moment and this whole area with its castles, Caves, secret passages etc feels like we're in one!! We even drank ginger beer!! I love that all the bathrooms have White Company products, I love the open fires, I'm now hooked on Welsh Cakes, I want to buy a kitchen clock just like yours and I made a special trip to the brewery shop to buy the pretty pint glasses!! Everything is comfortable, everything has been thought about - it's been pure bliss!! We joined Portmeirion for the year so we could come and go as we pleased all week! Such a quirky place!! We loved it!! The weather for us was outstanding - who said it rains in Wales?!! Lots of other jaunts out including Mount Snowdon which the kids (5 and 8) walked down!! Mum and Dad had very achy glutes and calves, the kids were full of beans and fine!!! Loved the Ffestiniog railway!! One of the trains made a 7 mile jog of mine so much better by treating me to a big Woooh-wooOH when I waved!! We will be back - the kids already want to know when!! Huge Thanks!! xxxx

We have had a very good time: 1) Walked to Boston Lodge station for return trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog - lunch in a cultural centre in an old police state. On the return we got out at Dduallt and walked to Tan Y Bwlch (1.5hr) for a later train home. 2) Walked down to Portmeirion and then through the village for a couple of hours (low tide) on the west-facing beach past the lighthouse. We returned via path beside the Japanese pond. 3) Left the car at a station and caught the 10.05 Welsh Highland train to Beddgelert. Walked back along the river and through the Aberglaslyn Pass - spectacular views and sights of several other trains as a bonus! Some of us went to Bronaw gardens afterwards. 4) Wet day visit to Llechwedd slate caverns. Took both the tramway ride and the deep mine visit. Interesting but why don't they have a timed system to avoid lengthy queues? 5) 45 min drive to Morfa Nefyn and NT car park. Superb beach walks to and from the hamlet. Very good rock pools just beyond.

We have had a wonderful, relaxing time in this beautiful, very tastefully and artistically and personally decorated home. This is an amalgamation of all 4 of our views: - V comfortable with lovely views - V peaceful with lovely gardens - The kitchen is full of equipment, which made it easy to make a birthday cake with no fuss, and all the necessary items - The library is beautiful, with a nostalgic aura, but up-to-date Wifi ... Who would believe that we were only here for 6 days? Lots of visits out, lots of playing in the garden, games of Monopoly and playing the piano. We will certainly be returning. 10/10.

Dear Paul, Claire, Matthew and Charlie Thank you so much for welcoming us to "Hafod Cae Maen", and giving us the opportunity to share your most beautiful, stunning home. The spectacular views and walks are just wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. Hope to visit again and who knows maybe even become neighbours at some point. Leaving today with wonderful memories of a great week. Many thanks

The view is beautiful. We all loved staying at this fantastic house. It was really fun. Thank you I loved this house it was really fun.

What a beautiful house in the most amazing setting, all the home comforts make it so special, thank you. We have had a truly relaxing time, we can't wait to return. Thank you Laura for making us feel so welcome.

A lovely, lovely house. Perfect for relaxing. Beautiful and just wonderful.

Paul will remember that I met him on a choir trip to Italy about 10 years ago and remember him talking about his love of this area. How wonderful to see a dream so spectacularly realised! Our 2 "toddlers" are now 14 and 12 and have been joined by 2 more; this has been the most fabulous house to effortlessly absorb us all for a memorable New Year break. The house was absolutely wonderful - we especially loved the games room and had great fun doing the jigsaws! The garden was perfect for games of Hide & Seek. We did not have the best weather but that didn't matter as nobody wanted to leave the house! It's been the most fantastic New Year holiday. I very much liked this house. I loved the view & I loved playing hide & seek. We loved the games room & the jigsaw was very fun. Also I found some sweets on the X-mas tree & I ate them!

What a wonderful place to spend Christmas with three generations! So warm & cosy & comfortable. Thank you! I had a brilliant birthday here, my mum had a fantastic birthday and we had a magical Christmas. Thank you for making it so festive and fun for the kids - they were so relieved Father Christmas managed to find them here!

We all loved your house - fabulous! Had a fantastic weekend, walking, trains, wine etc, etc. Amazing weather for November. We'll be back. It's the best place I want to come again. Thanks. Me to I loved it so much that would want to live here. Heres some of my advice keep it going your running a good bussness. The trains were good to chug chug chug chug.

My delight is to be able to sleep with the windows open and we did! Although sometimes the night sounds were drowned by the weather. What did we do? Visited a couple of castles, went up on the steam railway and had an undergroud trip around the Castle Hotel (see Frank!), lunch & supper, great butcher in Penrhyn, also good restaurant "The Square". What a great place for a holiday & the bed was v comfy. Perfect.

A weekend to remember to celebrate my 50th birthday in such a heavenly place. Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful house.

Lovely wedding, lovely house and fantastic company. Great times with fab friends. Happy wedding! Fab memories or a wonderful week with friends! It's been a slice! Had a blast!

We've enjoyed staying here very much - a very enjoyable house, refurbished with great style - and a perfect base for exploring the area. Our eight month old son particularly enjoyed crawling at increasing speed on the floors and happily spent time just swinging the doors open and shut! Our London flat is going to seem very small when we get back...

Lovely house, great location. We had a really great week with family, despite some poor weather! Had to leave the lovely bed for a 30 hour flight back to New Zealand.

Festival No. 6 2012 - Dear Paul, Just a quick thank you for our very wonderful stay in your lovely house. It has been the perfect respite from a very busy week for us. I look forward to staying here in the future, possibly outside the festival dates. Many thanks. Dear Paul, Thank you for a lovely stay. It's a shame we didn't get the chance to relax more in your wonderful house! Hopefully return some time in the future! Many thanks.

Dear Paul, Claire and Laura, Thank you so much for a lovely stay. See you next year. What a special, special place you have here. We had an amazing weekend, so so so relaxed and happy. Cannot wait to visit again. Dear Paul, Claire and Laura, Thank you for an amazing weekend - and you put on the sunshine for us too - magic! Can't wait to visit again with you all (& Charlie too!)

We had a wonderful time! Very nice weather and fantastic veiws. We never wanted our week to end. Would defenetly recommend it to enyone!

What can we say. a truly fantastic weekend that we never want to end! Hafod Cae Maen is an incredibly welcoming and beautiful house. The location is amazing with such stunning views you wouldn't ever tire of. We have been incredibly fortunate with amazing weather and enjoyed many hours of sunshine in the garden, a visit to Harlech beach and a day in Portmeirion. All of which were fantastic and well worth a visit. Thank you so much.

A wonderful week spent with de Thierry P and Claire, Matthew and Charlie, and de Thierry J and Lorine. Highlights included Rhinog Fawr, Welsh Highland Railway, the estuary sands and woods (as usual) and a gentle stroll and Llechollwyn. Only two visits to Tescos at Porthmadog. Hafod Cae Maen is a jewel. With love and thanks

We've had a lovely week here. A beautiful house & garden. Wonderful weather & the two boys (Joseph & Sam - 3 yrs and 2 yrs respectively) have loved the garden & beaches. Many thanks

We have enjoyed every minute staying here at beautiful Hafod Cae Maen. The house, garden & views are simply superb. Every detail has been carefully considered & every wish catered for. Thank you! It has been a dream holiday for us all and our little Leo (aged almost 4) would like us all to live here permanently!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary with all the family. The house is wonderful for allowing everyone their own space and comfort. Many thanks. We would love to come back here.

Many thanks indeed for a lovely Christmas week. It's a gorgeous house in a wonderful location. We really appreciate all the Christmas touches you even managed to lay on some fine weather for us. We look forward to returning one day.

This was our second visit to Hafod Cae Maen after 'discovering' it last year and we had a perfect weekend. We returned this year with friends - this is truly a house to be shared!! As ever the welcome was warm - this place has to be our perfect retreat!! We will definitely return here - hopefully on our honeymoon!! ....x

I have had the most wonderful surprise weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday courtesy of my children. I cannot imagine anywhere more perfect. The house is fantastic and so well equipped - full of comfortable details. It splits so well between the "hub" i.e. the kitchen, dining area, library where the seniors could go and browse and the sitting room where the "kiddies" could go and play. You have thought of everything - and I haven't even got round to mentioning the beautiful gardens, views, surroundings etc. I will never forget it here - and hope to be back.

What a wonderful adventure we have had here - long walks, sunny days on the beach, castles and railways. Perfect escape for the whole family. By far the most comfortable and child friendly house we have ever stayed in - my husband and I even feel rested (with 3 small children!) Thank you. We will return...

Seven overworked and overwrought ladies came for a pre-Christmas stress busting weekend, no husbands, no kids, no pets, no worries. Had a lovely time in this beautiful house, very homely, great location, wonderful surroundings. Thank you - we are now ready to take on Christmas with a smile. Hope to come again.

Our second stay here, just as lovely as the first. Had a great time walking through snow covered fields and the beaches nearby (Harlech and Abersoch). A beautiful house in a great location. Hope to come back soon. Thank you and best wishes.

Our second stay. Quite different from the first because of the spectacular, weather related scenery. We were very cosy at all times and really enjoyed our Xmas here. We hope to return in the future. Many thanks.

It's heaven here! It's got so many books and toys. A huge garden too. I hope we can come here again.

Lovely place - very characterful and very well kitted out for young and old alike.

A great location for a family get-together and a birthday party. Fantastic position - great walks even with buggies!

Lovely house. Cost, really comfortable. A place to return to... We will be back - lovely house and a lovely location

Our third stay here and as lovely as ever.

Thank you for a wonderful stay - stunning place all round. Definitely coming back!

Thank you very much for the wonderful opportunity to relax amidst peaceful and stunning surroundings in a beautiful, cosy house. We loved every minute of it. Our baby had a super-exciting time exploring the house as well! We would love to come back and stay longer.

Five ladies escaped from the city, to Hafod Cae Maen - it was pretty! The house was so fine, they had a great time, now they have to leave - what a pity!

The countryside is second to none and we mostly had weather to match. So much to do even though it was hard to tear ourselves away from the stunning view. A perfect place for the youngest member of our family aged 2 years. Everybody slept brilliantly in the comfortable beds.

We have had a lovely week here and could easily have stayed longer. All three children loved the garden and playhouse and took advantage of the great weather we've had to use them to the full. The library was everyone's favourite room and drew our attention to a number of books we'd like to read!

Fabulous home - fabulous holiday!

We have all had an amazing holiday in Hafod Cae Maen and wish we were staying longer. The house and garden are beautiful and the views of the mountains are stunning and the children loved the playhouse.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location! We have been well and truly spoilt... 2 families, 4 adults, 5 kids and 1 fantastic week. Thank you very much

We have felt so at home here. What a thrill to see the house on the hill as we toured the surrounding area. And a joy to "retire" to the library at the end of a long day.

Thank you for lending this beautiful house to the Coulson family. We have felt so completely at home in this magical place.

An absolutely superb location for us to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our family.

A house and location that encourages relaxation which was the purpose of our holiday. We have had a wonderful time here and thoroughly enjoyed the views, walks and surroundings. Hope to be back.

It's been a pleasure staying in your beautiful house in fabulous surroundings. We've had a lovely time here.

We have had a great week here - thank you! The house has been fantastic - very comfortable and well equipped. It's been great to explore the area.

Truly wonderful time. Could have spent longer here. Lots to see and amazing house.

Wonderful, special place - lovely time in autumn colours.

Wow! What a place, an absolute gem. We played a blinder booking HCM. I have never packed so lightly with 2 small kids and everything we needed was here from cots to hand blenders. The weather was beautiful, we even managed to strip down to swimsuits on the beach and take a dip - amazing in mid-November! We hope to return.

Another wonderful stay at Hafod Cae Maen (our third!). Went on lots of lovely walks on wind-swept beaches and evenings in by the fire. Always a pleasure to come back here. Hope to be back soon!

Well I absolutely loved it here! The views are gorgeous, the place is amazing! Thank you for a lovely time. It was absolutely wonderful. Had the best time here. The beds are really comfy.

The beds are very comfy and I loved playing on the piano. I loved Harlech Castle. I loved the beach because the stones are very beautiful.

What a fabulous house . We have had a fantastic weekend, we wish it were longer. We will be back!

It's a lovely house with a beautiful garden. I loved staying here, from Chloe. I had a lovely time and the little playhouse was very fun and it was nice because it was very warm! Lots of love from Christian.

Celebrating Sarah's 50th... Fantastic. If I have to be fifty - it's worth it just to stay here... A fantastic short break in a lovely house - great weather & superb way to celebrate a 50th

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed every moment staying here.

Wonderful house in beautiful surroundings, a fantastic family holiday for us all.

Just what the doctor ordered.

It was the best holiday we've had so far in our lives. We love the garden, it's so big for us! We went body boarding and for long walks. It was our Mum's birthday on Monday. PS We apsalootly loved the view!!!

The house and garden were ideal for us (Granny, Granddad, Son, Daughter, Son-in-law, 2.5 year old and 14 weeks old). The house provided everything we needed. A beautiful location, fantastic views in a scenically stunning part of the UK.

It was such a great holiday at the start of it I didn't think that it would feel like a proper holiday but at the end I really enjoyed it. It has been such a great holiday and didn't want to go. The views were amazing and we all loved the playhouse.

I really enjoyed this holiday because you can do so many things!!!!!! Also I don't know where to start talking about this AMAZING house!!!!!! The views are great and the gardens are wicked and we found out that we had 5 cool gardens. PS The weather was just right.

Adrian now seems v keen to work his way up the ranks on the railway! Thank you. Really enjoyed our time and on the final evening had a v memorable meal at the Moorings. Much recommended. Look forward to return trips.

Our second stay at Hafod Cae Maen, it gets better every time. Loved the house, the views, the beaches, the railway - especially the fireman-in-charge. We will be back... Cracking time in this glorious house. Loved it. We'll be back!
